When you book your appointment at Sunny Braids, I always ask which kind of hairstyle you have in mind to calculate how much time I’ll need to create it. You can’t just expect a complex style that usually takes me about 6 hours to be done in 45 minutes, right? That said, some hairstyles are definitely easier than others! In this article, I’ll tell you about 4 braiding hairstyles that can be created in record time and are easy to do. Keep reading to find out which one you want to try next time you have your hair braided.

Two Braids: A Simple, Yet Powerful Look

This is probably the most simple braided hairstyle you can try at home. You may refer to this style as pigtails or twin tails. Other people call them boxer braids because it’s the style of choice for many women who practice this sport (it keeps the hair away from their face, so it doesn’t block their vision!). 

Maybe your mom styled your hair this way when you were in elementary school! However, when a professional braider creates the two-braid hairstyle, it lasts longer and keeps your hair protected from damage. And just because this style is quite simple, it doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it! 

The two braids offer countless possibilities depending on how you create the line divisions and the hair parting. For example, you can opt for a side part if you have somewhat an asymmetrical face and you want to soften its features. You can also add accessories, such as strings, beads, or colorful extensions to enhance the beauty of your two braids. The loose part of each braid is called the tail, and it also offers possibilities to innovate. Although it may vary slightly depending on your hair length and type, it usually takes me about half an hour to create two cornrows on half the head, and 40 minutes if it’s all the head. Two braids with extensions take a bit longer, about an hour, which is still a reasonable time that will leave most of your afternoon free for you to enjoy San Juan and its many attractions. 

Two braids look great on kids, men, and women. What I like about this style is that it’s youthful and full of energy! You can take it to the beach as well as to a romantic date, and of course, as the name indicates, it’s perfect for practicing sports and feeling comfortable.

6 Front Cornrows: A Great Way to Keep Hair Away From Your Face

This is among the most popular styles with children, since it offers a great look for the beach, keeping their hair in place and allowing them to enjoy the sand, and the waves of the sea, and to run around without getting their hair tangled. Having the front of your hair carefully braided is like permanently wearing a headband that never falls out of place! 

Children have less hair than adults, so 6 (or even 4) cornrows are usually more than enough for having their entire head braided comfortably. Besides, since children usually have less patience, I recommend their parents opt for a style that doesn’t take too long to create. This hairstyle usually requires about 45 minutes top. 

Another advantage of the 6 front cornrows is that they are lightweight and don’t create tension in the scalp. Plus, they last about 2 weeks, which is usually enough to keep them in place for all the beach holidays.

3 Side Braids: A Romantic, Classy Hairstyle

The 3 side braids are another requested look which is easy and fast to create. Unlike the 6 front cornrows, it usually leaves most of the hair loose, which allows you to keep styling it after having it braided. It’s a powerful asymmetrical look that will catch the attention of everyone around you! 

This style keeps the hair away from your face, so it’s a great way to enhance your facial features. Plus, it helps to create the illusion of extra volume in your hair, so it’s a great choice if yours is thin and fragile. To create this look, the hair part goes on one side of the head, it can be right or left. For a more romantic look, the parting can be a bit messy. However, some people opt for the zig-zag parting, which is so much fun! 

The braids can be cornrows, French braids, fishtails, or any other style you like. Since hair doesn’t get braided up to its end, but only close to the scalp, creating the 3 side braids takes less time than other hairstyles.

Hair Wrap: A Super Fast, Super Cool Way to Create a Summer Look

• Use extensions: Synthetic hair doesn’t get tangled as easily and therefore, braids made from this material usually last longer than braids from natural hair. 

• Keep your scalp fresh and clean: Use a product specifically designed for your scalp to maintain its health without the need to wash the hair too often. 

• Wash your hair with the right frequency: On one hand, the build-up of hair products and sweat is damaging to your hair. On the other hand, washing your hair too often isn’t any good for your braids, or for your hair health. So use shampoo as often as you need, but don’t overwash it! 

• Dry your hair with a towel: If possible, skip the hair dryer. Use a towel and gently press your braids with taps to avoid twisting them and, if possible, let them finish dry in the air.

• Keep your hands off: Twirling or fidgeting with your hair is soothing for some people, and can become a habit that is hard to break. But if you are constantly playing with your braids or hair wrap, they’ll become loose and you’ll need to retouch them or remove them entirely.

Dos trenzas con extensiones tardan un poco más, aproximadamente una hora, lo que no deja de ser un tiempo razonable que te dejará la mayor parte de la tarde libre para disfrutar de San Juan y sus múltiples atractivos.

Los peinados de dos trenzas lucen geniales en niños, hombres y mujeres. ¡Lo que me gusta de este estilo es que es juvenil y lleno de energía! Puedes llevarlo tanto a la playa como a una cita romántica, y por supuesto, como su nombre indica, es perfecto para practicar deporte y sentirte cómodo.

6 cornrows frontales: una excelente manera de mantener el cabello alejado de la cara

Este es uno de los estilos más populares entre los niños, ya que ofrece un look estupendo para la playa, manteniendo su cabello en su sitio y permitiéndoles disfrutar de la arena, las olas del mar y corretear sin enredarse el pelo. ¡Tener la parte delantera de tu cabello cuidadosamente trenzada es como usar permanentemente una banda para el pelo que nunca se cae de su lugar!

• Mantén tu cuero cabelludo fresco y limpio: Utiliza un producto diseñado específicamente para tu cuero cabelludo para mantener su salud sin necesidad de lavar el cabello con demasiada frecuencia.

• Lávate el cabello con la frecuencia adecuada: Por un lado, la acumulación de productos capilares y el sudor dañan tu cabello.
